How It Started
It started as a simple google search, looking for a sugar beet factory, for my layout, Ogden to Pocatello, ID with strong emphases on Cache Junction, Utah. I found a photo of a sugar beet refinery of the ones I saw in the valley of Cache Junction in the year 2019 after the Golden Spike 150th anniversary. After a two-month long search for David Carpenter AKA Bergen National Laser, we were able to have a long talk together. He tells me that he too is a Marine, so we had a solid connection right from the start. Then he says, he moving to Switzerland in August. The wheels started to turn. He also said he uses laser board (resin impregnated paper). After a long 3-week search for the laser board, I came across Richard of RSLaserKits.com. Richard and I had an hour-long talk in a Dairy Queen parking lot in Bloomington, IL after I had completed a repair task in the town. Two weeks later, I came home from going to Menard’s (local home improvement center) I had a text from Richard. My wife, Eva and I called Richard and his wife, they made me an offer to buy his company! We traveled down to their home in Missouri on March 15, 2025, and talked with them about the idea. With a few bumps along the way, we are now writing the rest of the story
